What we collect
- What you type into our tools: ingredients, preferences, dishes and the number of people. We send this to our AI provider to write your recipe or meal plan. Please don’t type personal information into these fields.
- Fridge photos, if you use Snap your fridge. The photo is sent to our AI provider to list the food in it and is not stored by us.
- Recipe links you import. We fetch that page to read the recipe. Imported recipes are not published or stored on our servers unless you save them to your synced recipe box.
- Generated recipes may be stored so they can be shared by link. They are linked to your account only if you are signed in.
- Your IP address, as part of short-lived usage counters that stop automated abuse. Counters expire automatically, within 30 days at most.
- Account details, only if you create an account: your name and email address, and your profile picture if you sign in with Google. A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in.
- Your family profile (Plus): names, age groups, allergies, foods people won’t eat and, if you choose, that someone is on a GLP-1 medication. This is used only to tailor your recipes and plans. It is never shared for advertising, and you can change or delete it at any time.
- Your saved recipes and plan history, if you are signed in, so they are on all your devices.
- Your email address, if you sign up for the weekly plan or ask us to email you a plan. Weekly emails start only after you confirm, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Billing, if you subscribe to Plus: Stripe processes the payment. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer id, never your card number.
- Usage analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics collects information about pages visited and features used, so we can tell what is helpful.
Shared grocery lists
When you share a grocery list, anyone with the link can see it and check items off. Shared lists are deleted automatically after 30 days.
What stays on your device
If you are not signed in, your recipe box and current meal plan are saved only in your browser’s local storage. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Who we share data with
- Our AI provider (OpenRouter and the model provider it routes to), only to generate your recipe, plan or photo reading.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and our database.
- Resend, which delivers our emails.
- Stripe, which processes Plus payments.
- Instacart, only the grocery list you choose to send there.
- Google, if you sign in with Google, if analytics is enabled, or if ads are shown (ads are never shown to Plus members).
We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can use every free tool without an account. Signed in, you can edit your family profile, turn the weekly email off, and delete your account and everything tied to it from your account page. You can also email hello@createandcook.com to access or correct your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we will honor them.
Children
Create & Cook is meant for adults planning family meals. It is not directed at children under 13. A family profile may include a child’s first name and age group, entered by their parent.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. See also our terms of use.
